Rory McIlroy has always been on top of the latest trends in golf and this week at The Open Championship is no different.
The 147th Open Championship returns to Carnoustie Golf Club in Scotland, a course that has developed a reputation for it’s difficulty.
In 1999, local Paul Lawrie would win the event with a +6 score, contributing to the nickname ‘Carnasty’. Well Nike – who have stopped making golf clubs but are still in the apparel game – were quick to pounce the opportunity, releasing some custom kicks with ‘NASTY’ printed on the bottom.
McIlroy was undoubtedly quick to snap them for the week…and hopefully the weekend.
